Goderich - The Book Peddler

There is a fresh chapter being written on West Street in Goderich, and it’s one that book lovers, and casual browsers alike, will want to bookmark.

Last October, on Halloween, Kris and Ray Andrew took the leap, acquiring the name and inventory of The Book Peddler. After four months of renovation, they reopened the doors on March 6th, and the result is a welcoming, eclectic space that feels right at home in the heart of the town.

While it is, at its core, a second-hand bookstore, Kris says that they have added a bit of new merchandise. They scoured Canadian suppliers to add a few lines of products that would appeal to their audience, like cards, journals and candles.  Kris and Ray have curated the shelves with a "something for everyone" approach. You’ll find everything from deep dives into science and geography to the latest mystery, thriller, or romance.

For the true bibliophile, keep an eye out for "Peddler’s Prospects," a dedicated bookcase for those rare, hard-to-find gems. If you’re looking for something thematic, their "Feature Presentations" case rotates monthly, highlighting curated collections and special finds.

But the shop isn't just about the shelves, with cozy seating, a fresh cup of coffee or espresso in hand, and the option to challenge a friend to a quick game of chess or cards, it’s the kind of spot where you’re encouraged to linger a little longer.
