Goderich - Sky Ranch Drive-In

Sky Ranch Drive-in is nestled next to the airport, right on Highway 21 just over the bridge north of Goderich. This family-owned drive-in restaurant has been serving the same great fare by the same great family since 1967. Josh and Jodi Nurse purchased the business from his father Paul more than 15 years ago, making them the third generation to run the iconic Huron County business.

Their extensive menu features top-of-the-line meats sourced locally from Metzger’s Meats, 62 flavours of soft ice cream and 19 flavours of hard ice cream. The sky ranch burger, cheese fries and a vanilla soft serve ice cream have become a Sunday night summer staple for many locals!

This year the couple will be doubly busy with the acquisition of a second location, Seaforth’s famed Freeze King.

Last year, the Nurses discovered that the new owners of the site of Point Farms Mini-Golf were not planning on reopening the beloved course so they jumped in and bought the shed and the famous “m-i-n-i-g-o-l-f” letters. With that as their inspiration and a few spare acres beside the restaurant, they set about creating a new mini-golf course to continue the tradition for future generations of putters.

Old Point Farms regulars will recognize a few things inspired by the original course, including the steep angles on hole #7, the great $8/person or $30/family pricing system and the prize for a hole-in-one on #18 - a free ice cream cone!

While Josh was involved with every step of building the course from scratch, they had a dedicated bunch of family members and businesses who helped them realize the dream. There’s a huge sign recognizing those who were instrumental in getting the course ready in time for their Canada Day 2025 opening.

Josh says that when you’re on the course, don’t let hole #9 get you down. It’s got a tricky hump, but soon enough you’ll be on the easiest hole on the course - #12 with its bright yellow chair!

The drive-in is open every year from mid-April until October 1. 81669 Bluewater Highway, Goderich.
