For 25 years, Steve Jenkins has been supplying feed for all kinds of birds (and some of their friends) from just outside Bayfield. He has a wealth of information about the different types of birds you can attract by combining the right type of seed in the right type of feeder. His many years of observing the local birds and the ones that migrate through have turned him into someone who can likely help you identify what you are seeing in your own yard.

 

Tucked in behind Jenkins’ family home is his lovely shop dedicated to feeding our feathered friends. And who doesn’t enjoy watching the antics of a bunch of birds in a feeder? He has lots of feeders set up in the yard so you can see them in action.

 

Selling a wide variety of seeds and making custom blends based on years of local experience, he also has made bird houses out of almost everything. If you only have a small space or want to fill your yard with colourful friends, the right feeder will make your watching more enjoyable. He also sells ingenious hooks and ways to hang or mount your feeders. If you have some four-footed, bushy tailed invaders, there are a number of squirrel-proof feeders or squirrel buffers to help with defence, though watching the squirrels try to figure out a workaround is part of the fun.
