Paint Ontario
* Note - The Paint Ontario Show & Sale has been postponed to September 2021 *
Paint Ontario is celebrating its 25th annual show, juried competition and sale in 2021 and to mark the occasion, organizers are adding some special touches.
The pottery program of the Grand Bend Youth Art Centre will be constructing a spring tulip garden of hand-painted pottery tulips that will be on display beginning on May 7.
And for the first time ever, Paint Ontario will be accepting sculptures into the competition as a pilot project and it will stand as a separate awards category.
Paint Ontario is an art show and sale featuring original art pieces that bring to life the beauty, character and diversity of Ontario – our home. It is a show of “representational” art that depicts our life in Ontario – our landscape, architecture, flora and fauna, waterscapes and urbanscapes.
This is the largest show of its kind in Ontario. More than 200 original and ready-to-hang paintings prepared from oil, watercolour, acrylic, pencil, charcoal, or mixed media will be displayed. Paintings will be judged by professional artists to provide outstanding quality for viewers and buyers. Over 600 works were submitted for jurying in the 2020 show. Last year’s show awarded over $7,500 in prizes and attracted over 1,000 visitors. With physical distancing and COVID-19 protocols in place, artist demonstrations were moved outside and online videos were incorporated.
The show is hosted and organized by the Grand Bend Art Centre, a non-profit organization and their team of dedicated volunteers.
This year’s show is scheduled to run at the Lambton Heritage Museum from September 3 - 26. Artist submissions are now closed for 2021. For more information and the latest updates visit paintontario.com. 10035 Museum Rd, Grand Bend.
