Paint Ontario

Paint Ontario is celebrating its 30th annual show, juried competition and sale in 2026 and to mark the occasion, organizers are adding some special touches.

The Grand Bend Art Centre, a registered not-for-profit organization, is the host of Paint Ontario. The event is made possible thanks to the GBAC’s team of dedicated and enthusiastic Board and volunteers who bring the show to fruition through every stage of production leading up to the Opening Gala, and throughout the show.

In 2024, Paint Ontario was reimagined and transformed. The show was held in a new venue at the Grand Bend Legion Community Hall, right in the heart of Grand Bend. With custom designed lighting and display walls, the Legion facility is transformed into a stunning gallery for over 200 juried paintings, selected from as many as 700 competition entries and resulting in a truly prestigious event.

Long established as Ontario’s foremost show and sale for representational painters, this three-week Grand Bend based event attracts artists and art appreciators from all parts of the province and beyond.

Not only does Paint Ontario give artists the opportunity to sell their works, the monies raised in commissions go straight back into cultural activities within the community. The GBAC provides, among many other things, a music program to local schools, a community pottery facility, kids summer camps and grants to arts boosters in the community.

This year’s show and sale opens with a Gala on May 1, and then runs from May 2 to 17, with over $14,000 in awards and prizes to be handed out.

Over the course of the show, there will be artist demonstrations and special events, including a magic show and a Family Weekend (May 8, 9, & 10) that will feature Mexican culture through music, dance and visual art.

Be sure to monitor the website and social media, as demonstrations and events will be updated regularly. www.paintontario.com Grand Bend Legion Hall – 20 Municipal Dr, Grand Bend
