Iceculture gives Hensall one cool attraction

For years, Iceculture has been one of Huron County’s most innovative businesses and, indeed, one of the most innovative companies in the country.

In fact, earlier this year, Iceculture was recognized by the Huron Arts and Heritage Network as the county’s most culturally-significant entity of the last 10 years. For its 10th anniversary, the Huron County Cultural Awards focused on past winners and asked residents to vote for their favourite of the 46 award winners of the previous 10 years and it was Iceculture that came out on top of all winners.

Julian Bayley founded Iceculture nearly 30 years ago, growing the business from a small, family-run business to a company that would produce frozen creations for clients all over the world.

The company had humble beginnings with its ice sculpture punch bowls, but grew to a business that produced large sculptures for some of the most important companies in the world.

While much of its business is focused on producing products for paying customers, Bayley and his team quickly realized the tourism potential and the company now hosts Iceculture Experience tours regularly.

These tours include a tour of the ice gallery or a full 90-minute guided tour with an ice display. Adult tours are $20, youths are $15 and children under the age of four are free. There are also group rates available for over 25 people.
