Greyhaven Gardens

By Nancy Fisher

The large addition to Greyhaven Gardens (39843 Londesboro Road, Londesborough) that grew up from the ground this winter is hard to miss. And you won’t have to wait much longer to see what the owners have planned.

The first opening of the new space is set for mid-May, with a grand opening in June. This new building will give the garden centre an additional 5,000 square feet of retail space. The expansive double-height building will house non-plant items and allow Greyhaven to expand on the giftware and garden accessories lines it already carries. New products like garden statuary are expected to follow soon.

The space will include ample room for pots, planters, seeds and giftware, including a mezzanine overlooking the floor below. A purpose-built workshop room, with peek-through windows, will allow it to continue the popular classes the business already hosts and expand to include even more.

This will also be the home for the magical Christmas Wonderland it creates each fall, offering more possibilities for events and an expanded inventory. A small snack bar will offer baking from Wilhelmina Bakery, a new business located nearby, as well as hot and cold drinks.

Additional greenhouses in the future will keep this family business with over 30 years of history growing far into the future.
