Goderich Kinette’s Arts & Crafts Festival
Scheduled for July 3, 4, and 5 at Courthouse Square, this year's Goderich Kinettes Festival of Arts & Crafts is fast approaching.
Patti Lamb, who serves as the President of the Goderich Kinettes Club and the Festival of Arts and Crafts Chair, noted that the event is now in its third year under their leadership and seeing steady growth. The Festival of Arts & Crafts has been a downtown staple for decades, first envisioned by Goderich Tourism and then as a major fundraiser for the Huron Women’s Shelter for years.
After starting with 84 vendors and expanding to 110 last year, the festival currently has 78 registered participants for the upcoming dates as this magazine goes to print, with lots of registrations still coming in.
The festival showcases hand-made items from Ontario artisans, including textiles, jewelry, clothing, quilts, and wooden crafts. Various food vendors will also be present, offering a selection of homemade goods.
In addition to the artisans, the Goderich Rotary Club sets up their huge annual used book sale in one quadrant of the square. Stop by to pick up your summer reading, or snag that rare edition you’ve been hunting for.
Serving as a fundraiser for the Goderich Kinette Club, the event features a signature 50/50 mega draw held on Sunday. Draw tickets are available through their Facebook page, by scanning QR codes on local posters, or in-person at the festival.
Following past contributions to the Kinsmen Park Pavilion and the GDCI track, this year's proceeds will support the Magnetic Moments MRI campaign for the Alexander Marine and Goderich Hospital.
The Courthouse Park in the centre of The Square is an ideal venue for the festival with tents lining the sidewalk spokes in the octagon-shaped greenspace.
