Goderich Boat Cruises

Although 2025 was a pilot project for Goderich Boat Cruises, Captain Mike Brill is no stranger to operating a tourist boat operation, after a five-year stint just up the coast in Kincardine.

Its first summer in Goderich was deemed a success, and Captain Mike was excited about the number of tourists coming to the area and the professionalism of the entire Goderich Harbour, so he has returned for another exciting year, with some new and expanded offerings.

The boat itself is a 45' sport yacht crewed by a captain and first mate. Captain Mike describes the vessel as being comparable to the length of a Greyhound bus and holds 12 passengers.

Cruising begins at the end of May by chance or appointment, and from June to September scheduled tours are available Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday long weekends. The “seanic” harbour tour is a half-hour cruise around the Goderich harbour, along with a short jaunt out on to the lake for just $30 per person.

For a longer experience, the “shoreline” cruise now offers an expanded ride. Captain Mike says they were able to extend their passenger license to travel all the way to Bayfield in the south and Port Albert in the north. For a one-hour shoreline tour, the cost is $75 per person. Sunset cruises are the most popular. All cruises are contingent on minimum bookings being reached.

Whether you are planning a romantic anniversary or looking for something different for a bachelorette party, Goderich Boat Cruises has the perfect solution for you. A private charter includes access to the cabin, swimming off the back of the boat, and use of portable BBQ for $350 per hour for up to 6 passengers (additional $60. per person thereafter up to 12 passengers). For an extra charge, the private charter can be upgraded to a VIP package which can include decorations, access to extra amenities and the ability to bring alcoholic beverages on board.

Captain Mike says he is most excited about the new ferry service running between Goderich and Bayfield on Saturdays. Leaving at 10 a.m., enjoy a 1.5-hour cruise between the two towns taking in the beautiful shoreline along the way. Once you arrive at your destination, you have the opportunity to explore local businesses, shops, restaurants or the beach during a 5-hour layover, then enjoy the 1.5-hour adventure back. A shuttle service to each town’s downtown is included in the fare of $125 per person, round trip. The ferry will alternate between starting locations, so call to find out where the starting point is each week.

All cruises and ferry service must be booked in advance at 647-881-7500 (call or text). For more information, visit their website www.goderichcruises.com 250 Harbour Quay, Goderich
