Exeter Farmers Market
The Exeter Business Improvement Area (BIA) is hosting a monthly market in the parkette in the downtown for the third year. BIA Manager Laura Connolly explains that the market brings a vibrancy to the core of Exeter that the downtown businesses love to see. “Getting people moving around the downtown helps all the businesses,” she says.
This year she is expecting 20-25 vendors, which means that they have outgrown the parkette and will be spilling around the corner on to John Street. The vendors range from food and produce to baked goods to crochet artists, and even a beer vendor.
The parkette is an inviting green space in the centre of town with murals heralding the railway heritage of Exeter, shaded nooks under pergolas and a gazebo making it a nice stop any day. Don’t miss the celebration of the iconic white squirrel, a carved tree trunk in the centre of the park.
The market runs May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19,Sept. 16 and Oct. 21 from 3-7 p.m. Watch their Facebook page for updates or visit the Exeter BIA at www.experienceexeter.ca 406 Main St, Exeter
