The Bayfield Fall Fair is such a highly anticipated event because it can immediately bring you back to your childhood, and you find yourself feeling that “we’re going to the fair” excitement all over again. Now in its166th year, the events will run from August 19 to 21, and it will be the first with in-person events since the pandemic with most of the usual events returning.
The Rise 2 Fame talent show is a great opportunity to catch the up and coming local acts that may go on to bigger things beyond the fair. Make sure to enter or cheer on your favourite young stars.
The theme this year is “Blossoms, Butterflies and Bees”, the triple “B” that makes summer magical. You wil want to check out the entries and displays in the arena for the Homecrafts division, especially with new categories this year that include maple syrup and honey to reflect the growing interest in producing your own food. Of course there will be the fine crafts, fruit and vegetables, flowers and photography as always. And other vendors for shopping, treats and information.
Outside the many different livestock shows offer a great way for the little ones to see some farm animals up close and how they can perform in a show. Other outdoor events will be taking place as weather permits.
Sadly there will not be a parade this year due to the work on Main Street, but they hope that it will return next year even bigger and better! So much of what the Bayfield Fall fair brings to the community is about family and traditions that have lasted many generations.
